Each one should test their own actions.
Then they can take pride in themselves alone,
without comparing themselves to someone else,
for each one should carry their own load.
Galatians 6:4-5 (NIV)

Jesus, today I have a problem. I envy everyone else’s life but my own. I mean, other people seem smarter, better looking, and healthier. They travel more, plan more, volunteer more, and laugh more. Basically, they whirl more. And I find myself standing alone, merely coughing in the dust that they stir up. I have fallen—yet again—into the trap of comparison.
Today I am praying for freedom from those comparisons, so that I can focus on the path You have created for me. There I know I will find my hope, my purpose, and my joy!
Questions for Pondering…
Does social media create an atmosphere that can lead to the problem of comparison?
What are some ways I can stop comparing myself to others?
