What I Don’t Love

by | Apr 9, 2026

The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 15:4 (NIV)

Dearest, Lord, You know how much I love planting trees, spreading seeds, and growing flowers. You know that about me, Lord, because You designed me that way. And I love it. But what I don’t love about me—which is my own fault—is the way I sometimes spread things that are not so beautiful. That is, ugly words. You did not design me to do that, I know.

What a shame when I really do want to make this earth a lovelier place in every way. Lord, please help me. May both the work of my hands and the words from my heart be beautiful to behold!

Questions for Pondering…
How do I feel when I have been on an ugly rant?
How can I speak truth without letting it get harsh and hurtful?
